Here at At The Flicks we like to be “fashionably late”. Most podcasters have their best films of 2025 shows out for late December or early January. Not us.

We could say this delay was to get maximum impact by overlapping with the Academy Awards and BAFTA nominations, but we would of course be lying. Or as the Orange Ones says, that’s just fake news. Nope, we have been planning some exciting projects coming later this year, and the work for those sadly delayed the release of the four shows we have planned reviewing 2025.

Four shows? Yep, some of our guests have kindly agreed to spend time with us to give us their film choices from the year that’s just gone (and considering how 2026 is turning out, we wouldn’t mind a ticket to get back there).

This first show has the very knowledgeable and charming Tessa telling us her top five films of 2025, with a couple of worthy also rans. As well as some fascinating film choices, Tessa also tells us about the film festivals she attended or has been helping out without throughout the year. And this is why Terssa’s show is first – this lady lives and breathes film.

Which forced to Jeff and Graham to make a shocking admission. There are three films on Tessa’s excellent list they had not heard of! They have promised to put this right and they will be quizzed on their knowledge of these highly acclaimed movies in upcoming shows. We are not going to give you any hints as to what Tessa’s choices are, which is why there are no links to these notes. Check them out and let us know if you have seen all five – this is your chance to put Jeff and Graham to shame!
